Reading -The Cay, E-portfolio Sample - Comprehension
Write an “ITTM” for the following sentences:
After a moment of silence, I heard the sizzle of the water as Timothy doused the torch.
I think that means….later a few seconds went by and Philip could hear a sound a BBQ makes while he was pouring some cold liquid on something that was bright.
For more than a week, I knew he had been labouring over nails to turn them into fish hooks.
I think that means….for longer than 7 days Philip knew timothy had been working hard turning sharp metal things in to things to catch the fish.
Roadblocks! There were many roadblocks for us in this book! Choose at least two of the following words to explain and ‘clear the roadblock’ for.

Langosta -A lobster that comes from America.
Malaria -A fever you can get from mosquitoes.
On the cay Phillip learnt that dark coloured skin people aren't as bad like his mum said.
Also he learnt how to care for himself in the wild.
Lastly he learnt how to use his sense of touch more because he was blind.
You have really convinced me that you understand the “ITTM” strategy with our shared book “The Cay”. You are putting all of the sentences into your own words and are convincing your audience.You were able to clear all of our roadblocks yourself using prior knowledge.
